In Hamburg a few days ago, the annual convention of Panasonic was the occasion to announce the launch of a range of new smartphones on the European market with a sales target of 1.5 million units on the continent during the next fiscal year which will open on April 1.
The Japanese manufacturer therefore intends to position itself in our regions with Eluga, a very thin smartphone (7.8mm), very light (103 grams) and resistant to both dust and water. Its manufacturer specifies that it can withstand a 30-minute immersion at a depth of 1 meter… in other words, a little walk with you in a bathtub or a long conversation under downpours!
While waiting for an update to Android Ice Cream Sandwich in a few months, it runs under Gingerbread 2.3. Its main technical characteristics:
- 4.3 inch QHD OLED display
- 1 GHz dual core processor and 1 GB of RAM
- 8 Megapixel photo / video sensor with autofocus and 8GB of storage memory
- NFC technology
- “Swipe and Share” for wireless sharing of photos and videos to a TV or cloud service
Presented in every way at the Mobile World Congress which opens Monday in Barcelona, the Eluga is expected on the European market in the course of next month.
