The AR.Drone 2.0 has been available for pre-order since yesterday in the United States and should land in stores in May. Developped by the Parrot company, this mini helicopter is located at the crossroads of several areas: model making, video games and augmented reality.
A real gadget, the AR Drone can be piloted remotely via an iPhone or iPad and incorporates many sensors including a front camera, a vertical camera and an ultrasonic altimeter. The AR.Drone also allows you to play video games, such as AR.FlyingAce, an air combat game between two AR.Drone.
Among the expected novelties, this new generation gadget should include: a 720p HD camera and an onboard USB port as well as a new application allowing the recording of flight videos. Finally, this new version should also be compatible with the games sold under the AR.Drone, first edition!
Parrot’s flagship product is expected to sell for close to $ 300.
