Samuel Mottin, co-founder of Pharmanity: It is not uncommon for a patient to visit a pharmacy and not have the desired product in stock, available immediately while the pharmacy next door does. But how do you know? In addition, the prices of parapharmacy products, but also of many drugs, can vary significantly from one pharmacy to another. Depending on how they get their supplies, all pharmacies have products at attractive prices. But once again, difficult to navigate easily! Proximity pharmacies need visibility because they are subject to increasingly strong competition from large-scale distribution and online sales.
What is your value proposition?
Pharmanity.com is a web-to-store platform that lists all the information about pharmacies (services, specializations, on-call duty, etc.) as well as all their products in stock, available immediately and their prices. In order to provide reliable information, pharmacies stocks and prices are updated automatically and in real time. Our geolocated search engine makes it easy for patients to find nearby pharmacies that meet their needs and for pharmacies to attract new patients without changing their habits and without wasting time. In short, Pharmanity.com is the “Google of local pharmacies”!
Who are the users of your solutions?
Our users are patients who seek to obtain products immediately (drugstore and drugs, even on prescription) or at attractive prices. Customers at large increasingly want everything, right away. Availability is today the criterion that most catches their attention. What is the point of ordering a product online and having it two days later when you can have it immediately at the same price? Patients also look for pharmacies based on other criteria: pharmacies on duty, specializations or new services such as screening (diabetes, cholesterol, etc.) or even schedules. Our solution is aimed at all pharmacies, whatever their size and location thanks to our search algorithm optimized to promote contact and proximity between patients and pharmacists.
What is your development plan?
We already have more than 500 partner pharmacies in France and the site is used by more than 7,000 people every day. Our goal is to have 10,000 partner pharmacies in France within 5 years. Internationalization projects are currently under study.
At the same time, we are developing white label Click & Collect sites for pharmacies with all their products updated automatically and in real time as well as solutions for groups of pharmacies and laboratories to optimize their customer journey.
What are your challenges?
Our main challenge is to speed up the referencing of pharmacies to become the key player in connected pharmacy. For this we are in the process of setting up strategic partnerships and we will soon double our workforce.
Who are your competitors?
Our competitors are the same as those of local pharmacies: mass distribution and online sales sites. We are the only ones to provide immediate availability of products in pharmacies and to bring patients back to local pharmacies.
