[FW Radar] Ekylibre wants to give freedom to farmers
On the occasion of the Salon de l’Agriculture which takes place from February 25 to March 5, 2017 in Paris, FrenchWeb presents every day a start-up that is revolutionizing the agricultural world.
Launched in January 2015 by Brice Texier and David Joulin, Ekylibre is management software. The aim is to free up time for farmers.

FrenchWeb: What problem does Ekylibre solve?
Karine Cailleaux, communication manager of Ekylibre: Company serving farmers, Ekylibre offers a unique tool for managing all areas of the farm, “from soil to silo”. We have created an all-in-one, simple and complete free software that makes life easier for the farmer. Our goal is to enable farmers to be more efficient thanks to innovative digital solutions.
What’s your value proposition?
A farmer spends an average of 500 hours a year managing his farm. We aim to free farmers from their administrative burdens by dividing this time by 5. How? Thanks to a management tool:
complete operation, accessible via the Web, grouping together all the modules useful for managing a farm,
interoperable with connected objects to move towards the objective of “zero entry” of data
interconnectable with the farmer’s partners, thus avoiding any unnecessary re-entry.
Who are the users of your solution?
All French farmers (our software is suitable for any type of production and any size of farm), as well as prescribers such as cooperatives, management centers, banks and insurance companies.
Farmers are looking for performance and simplicity. In a changed, upset context, the profession evolves, you have to adapt without tearing your hair out. We propose to connect the farmer to software. The software then allows the farmer to connect to his partners and his entire ecosystem, even technical and technological (such as connected objects such as ground sensors or other weather stations, etc.).
Who are your competitors?
We count among our competitors ISAGRI, 365 Farm Net, SMAG, Mes P @ rcelles, Farmlogs, Agrivi.
We are, in this ecosystem, the only ones to offer free software, accessible by subscription (Freemium model) and allowing to manage operations at 360 °.
What is your development plan?
Here is our development plan:
on the product / service level: We want to make the concept of “connected farm” real. Thanks to the development of a mobile application (Zero) and a new conversational assistant (called Duke), the global solution is within reach of farmers.
growth of the company: The company aims for a turnover of 500,000 euros in 2018.
internationalization: Our tool is currently available in English, and is being translated into Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and Chinese. It is therefore now possible to export our solution throughout the world and reach the 10 million European farms, then, why not, the 550 million farms worldwide.
What are your challenges?
Here are our different challenges:
in terms of the market: Become a market share leader for small and medium-sized farms through the integration of our software into the services offered by all of the farmer’s partners (including cooperatives).
in terms of business: Our commercial objective for the end of 2017 is to succeed in bringing together 2,500 farms which manage their professional daily life via our software, including 500 paying “instances” (29.90 euros / month).
financial side: We are starting to raise funds in 2017.
HR side: Currently in the process of recruiting Web developers (Ruby on Rails mainly), our goal at the end of 2017 is to expand our team to 20 employees.
