For the third year in a row, French Tech has refueled in La Rochelle on the occasion of the French Startup Cup. Organized by the Rochelaise company Sellsy, which is developing an online software solution for commercial management, and the Société des Régates Rochelaises, the sailing competition took place at the end of August on the Pertuis d’Antioch lake, located between the islands of Aix, Ré and Oléron, off La Rochelle. Charline Picon, Olympic windsurfing champion in Rio in 2016, was the godmother of this 2017 edition.
Giving pride of place to exchanges and meetings, the event this year attracted 50 French start-ups which made it possible to constitute 26 teams. For the first time since the creation of the French Startup Cup, Sellsy did not take the victory. Indeed, the La Rochelle start-up saw its title slip away in favor of the Drust team, led by the skipper François Gabart, winner of the Vendée Globe 2012-2013 and the Route du Rhum 2014.
For his part, FrenchWeb was satisfied with the 20th place… To aim for the Top 10, Alain Mevellec, co-founder and general manager of Sellsy, invites us to come to La Rochelle this winter to do some training sessions. A fourth edition of the French Startup Cup is already scheduled for next summer.
