FinalCAD wants to digitize the construction sector

by bold-lichterman

Knowledge Corp has embarked on a vast project. This French company wants to digitize the construction sector. In 2011, it launched FinalCAD, an application available on smartphone and tablet that allows construction professionals to follow the progress of work on a site, to share their observations on a plan or to facilitate communication between teams.

The goal: to rid the teams of daily paperwork (documentation, management of reserves, etc.). “These are paper-based processes that take a long time to prepare, very heavy to perform (…). We digitize and automate all of this for businesses, which makes it much faster, ”explains David Vauthrin, co-founder of FinalCAD.

A market of “5.5 million sites per year”

Founded in 2007, the company now has 54 employees, of whom around 20 work in R&D. With a fleet of 3,000 equipped tablets and 100,000 users in some twenty countries, FinalCAD ensures that a third of its turnover is achieved internationally.

“We estimate the global market at 5.5 million sites per year, including 500,000 which are directly addressable in our core target, ie above 5,000 square meters”, explains David Vauthrin. Among its clients, we find in particular Bouygues Immobilier, Vinci and Eiffage. And after a first fundraising of 2.1 million euros in 2014, FinalCAD is considering a second round of funding to finance its international development.
