Fastly operates a content delivery network (CDN) and claims the lowest response time for a request.

Fastly has just completed a second round of funding of 7.6 million euros with August Capital. Founded in early 2011 by Artur Bergman, ex-CTO of Wikia, the Californian startup had already raised € 760,000 for the first time from Amplify Partners, Battery Ventures and O’Reilly AlphaTech Ventures.

Fastly manages a real-time content delivery network based on SSD technology and its clients include Etsy, GitHub, The Guardian, Shazam and Twitter. Its main competitors are companies like Akamai or Azure CDN.
The funds raised should allow Fastly to expand the development of its network around the world.

According to the start-up, the CDN (Content Delivery Network) market should represent 5.6 billion euros in 2017.
