[Étude] Americans communicate on average 2 hours a day via their mobile

IDC, in partnership with Facebook, yesterday published the results of its study “How Smartphones and Social keep us engaged” carried out during the month of March among 7,446 American mobile users.

The marketing consulting firm reveals in this study a lot of data on the state of the smartphone market in the United States and the uses by mobile users across the Atlantic, particularly in social networks like… Facebook.

Regarding the American mobile market, Facebook-Always-Connected.pdf “target =” _blank “> the study is full of data specific to Facebook:

  • 70% of American mobile users surveyed use Facebook from their mobile and 61% do so daily.
  • Respondents spend an average of 32 minutes each day on the social network (42mn at weekends, 19mn during the week).
  • Male users are 75% more likely to use apps on Facebook than their female counterparts. Young people aged 18 to 24 are twice as likely to do so as users aged 40 to 44.
