Co-founded in 2008 by Cédric Hutchings, French Withings designs and manufactures connected objects. It made a name for itself in particular with the first connected scale, and today markets blood pressure monitors and baby monitors linked to applications on smartphones.
Withings now sells its products in more than 50 countries around the world, and uses different distribution channels: online and physical retail, in particular via Apple stores.
Today, the firm is launching a new connected device: the Withing Pulse marketed from June 27 at a price of 99.90 euros. True “activity tracker”, this new gadget could allow the French to win against the American Fitbit, who has widely surfed on the wave of the quantified self.
