Dataconnections competition: the list of the 8 winners of the 4th edition revealed

The winners of the fourth edition of the dataconnections competition have been revealed. Organized three times a year since 2012, it rewards “the best applications, services or data visualizations that reuse public data”. Startups, researchers, administrations, large companies … all types of profiles are allowed to register, the objective of the event being to “stimulate innovation and allow project leaders to interact with a network of professionals likely to to support their development ”.

The awards ceremony will take place this Wednesday, December 4, from 1:45 p.m., at the head office of the La Poste group. Composed of around thirty digital and economic players, the jury, chaired by Frédéric Mazzella, the founder of BlaBlaCar, selected this time:

  • Winner of the “General Public” category: Open Food Facts, a database on food products
  • “Public utility” winner: Open Meteo Forecast, for his project of meteorological prediction from public data relating to the atmosphere and geography
  • Winner Category “Local Services”: Calendeev, a real-time agenda on cultural outings and events not to be missed
  • Co-winners of the “Evasion” prize: Guido, an audio message application, automatically triggered during a car trip, submitting ideas for various breaks when approaching exits
  • Co-winner of the Special “Evasion” Prize: Vamos a La Playa, social network to discover and share opinions on bathing areas
  • Co-winner of the Special “Territories” Prize: Metanol, a solution to facilitate the opening and sharing of public data, in particular thanks to the integration of widgets curators of site data
  • Co-winner of the Special “Territories” Prize:CuteGIS, open platform for publishing data and geographic objects, classified in an easy-to-use catalog
