Criteo, French specialist in advertising retargeting, announced the acquisition of the American start-up HookLogic. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. However, the transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of Criteo’s fiscal year.
This acquisition aims to strengthen the performance of its marketing platform. In particular, this will bring together brands and e-commerce giants. “With the acquisition of HookLogic, Criteo adds a complementary performance marketing solution to its portfolio, focusing on the ability to deliver more value to brands and distributors“, said Eric Eichmann, CEO of Criteo.
Orange enters the capital of Groupama Bank up to 65%. The operation was validated by the French and European regulatory and prudential authorities. By becoming the majority shareholder of Groupama Banque, the French operator officially confirms the creation of Orange Bank.
Orange began the process to buy back 65% of Groupama Banque’s capital last April. The French operator’s mobile banking will be operational from January 2017. André Coisne, former CEO of BforBank, Crédit Agricole’s online bank, debauched by Orange in June, will take over as head of Orange Bank.
“The acquisition of a majority stake in Groupama Banque enables the group to pursue its strategy of diversification in mobile financial services through the creation of Orange Bank», Note Stephane Richard (opposite), CEO of Orange. Faced with the recurring decline in its turnover in France, the operator is indeed relying on online banking to become a new growth driver. The incumbent operator will notably be able to rely on its 27 million customers to launch Orange Bank across the country. Orange has set itself the goal of reaching 2 million customers and is targeting turnover of 400 million euros by 2018 for its mobile banking.

The music streaming specialist Deezer partners with Feature.fm, a music platform for natively highlighting music titles. This partnership allows artists to promote their songs to their audience directly from the Deezer platform.
Like a brand that sponsors content so that it can be seen by certain categories of Internet users, artists will be able to ensure that their music is offered to Internet users with similar musical tastes. As with any song, Internet users can share them, add them to favorites, or play them. A year ago, Spotify launched its “Spotify Fan Insights” dashboard, for “help artists better understand Spotify listeners“.
Eelway, a start-up which offers a mobile left-luggage service to tourists, has entered into a partnership with AccorHotels to test its offer in several of the group’s Parisian hotels. The service developed by Eelway allows travelers to book a concierge who comes to collect their luggage at the place desired by tourists. They can then pick them up at the airport or train station at the desired time. Until now, the service was available at Orly and Roissy-CDG airports and at all Paris intramural stations.
This partnership with AccorHotels thus marks an expansion of the offer offered by Eelway. “Hotel guests want to enjoy their stay without worrying about their luggage. This is precisely the objective of our mobile locker“, Explain Fabien Coeur-Uni, co-founder and president of Eelway. Last July, the French start-up completed a first round of funding of 200,000 euros.
Bouygues Immobilier presents, on the occasion of Microsoft’s Experiences Days, the demonstrator of its “smart grid” energy project, which should allow photovoltaic energy produced in a district to be consumed in the same district.
“By using a blockchain to guarantee the integrity of a piece of information or a process, we ensure its transparency, traceability and immutability at low cost. Stratumn has built a prototype to validate the fact that blockchain technology facilitates and secures all energy credit transactions within a peer-to-peer network.“, Explain Richard Caetano, CEO of Stratumn.
The demonstrator must be tested in real conditions in the Confluence district in Lyon, which already houses a Demonstrator from the Institut de la Ville Durable. The project will be extended to a larger area by the first quarter of 2017. A similar project was announced last April in Brooklyn with the TransActive Grid network.
The Paris-Dauphine Foundation has partnered with Early Metrics to finance start-ups from D-Incubator. Based on the scores assigned by Early Metrics, a committee of entrepreneurship experts meets every four months to select the start-ups benefiting from a zero-interest loan granted by the Paris-Dauphine Honor Loan Fund.
Thus, this system has made it possible to finance six start-ups (Digifood, Collock, Appie, WeFoot, ShorTouch and Transaction Connect) since the start of the year to the tune of 220,000 euros. “90% of startups disappear within two years of their creation. For Paris-Dauphine, Early Metrics ratings help identify and reduce risks when granting honor loans“, precise Antoine Baschiera, CEO of Early Metrics.
The group Companeo, B2B marketing specialist, launches Uptobiz, its accelerator dedicated to B2B start-ups. The program, which lasts at least 6 months, is based on two main pillars: accommodation in a workspace set up in the group’s new premises in Suresnes, and support.
“Our program will enable them to meet the challenges specific to the B2B ecosystem. It is above all about transmitting Companeo’s know-how and supporting them in their development (strategy, network, legal, financing, etc.)“, Explain Philippe Dokès director of Uptobiz. Start-ups eligible for the acceleration program must generate the majority of their income from business customers.
The start of the school year was “100% digital” for 8 high schools in the Ile-de-France region. Use of interactive whiteboards and tablets, use of videos in progress, learning the code: all the infrastructures but also the pedagogy have been revised to make the pilot establishments go all-digital. As part of this project, the Region also plans to work with private actors (start-ups, companies) offering educational innovation tools, but also solutions for intelligent building management, personnel management, etc.
The total budget for the operation is estimated at 36.5 million euros, broken down as follows: 33.5 million euros in investments and 3 million euros in operating costs. At the same time, the Ile-de-France Region is working to connect Ile-de-France high schools to very high speed, with the aim of covering all high schools by 2020.
Online banking services are attracting more and more French people, according to the results of the 6th edition of the study Bank and customer relations produced by Deloitte.
