The start-up Numvision has just raised 500,000 euros from Veymont Participations and Bouygues Telecom Initiatives to accelerate its research and development and boost its commercial part at the level of major accounts. “It took us four months to meet the investors and complete the transaction. We knew them through our contacts ”explains Laeticia Pelissier from Numvision to Frenchweb. A year and a half ago the company had completed a round of priming between 100,000 and 200,000 euros with the Paris Business Angels network.

The company, based in La Ciotat, in the south of France, publishes NumBackup, a file sharing and synchronization solution, and NumSync, a platform for collaborative work for companies. These are marketed in B2B (business to business, editor’s note) to its partners who re-market them under their own name.

Founded in 2009, Numvision boasts more than 250 customers using its products, including Bouygues Telecom Entreprises, Nexto and Bull which, with Atos, wants to form a European player in the cloud. “We have one-year distribution contracts with our clients – hosts, publishers, operators, etc. – who integrate our white label software to offer file synchronization and transfer services from their own servers” explains Mrs. Pelissier. The company, a 100% software publisher, is positioned in a market made up of players like Oodrive or ownCloud, which is open source.

To stand out, it relies in particular on its technology. “We have our own patented timing motor. We can transfer very large files in a very short time ”. Out of 8 employees, 5 work in technology. Next step for the start-up: “in the medium term, we want to develop in Europe with the same economic model”. More specifically, the company is thinking about Germany or Switzerland. “Countries where the cloud market is developing more than elsewhere”.
