After many twists and turns, the State, through the national fund for the digital society managed by the Caisse des Dépôts, has just announced that it will invest 75M euros in the Orange-Thales tandem, as part of of the French-style cloud computing project.
Called the Andromède project, this system aims to set up a secure storage solution for sensitive data. In total, this digital powerhouse should have a budget of 225M €.
Dassault Systèmes, initially in tandem with SFR, for its part has definitely thrown in the towel for the French cloud project. The € 75 million that should therefore be allocated to this second duo could well be donated to other project leaders or to SFR if it finds a new partner.
