Cegid launches a cloud offer for retail professionals around the world

On the occasion of Retail’s Big Show in New York, Cegid, a French company specializing in IT services and software, has unveiled a global cloud offering for its Yourcegid Retail Y2 solution. Committed to the cloud shift, the Lyon-based company, bought by two Anglo-Saxon funds for 580 million euros last year, already has two private cloud data centers (one in the United States, the other in France).
Launched in 2014, Yourcegid Retail Y2 is a modular platform in SaaS mode that allows specialized stores to manage all of their retail activities through tools dedicated to omnichannel management, inventory management, purchasing management, management points of sale, in-store mobility or even CRM and clienteling. The device is supposed to improve the relationship between the seller and the customer. To date, Y2 is available in 60 countries around the world.
The cloud, a market worth 146 billion dollars in 2016
The new cloud offer announced by Cegid thus aims to offer assistance at any time (24 hours a day, 7 days a week) to distributors around the world. In 2016, the cloud market weighed 146 billion dollars, according to the firm Synergy Research Group, an increase of 25% compared to 2015.
In terms of the cloud, Cegid is also presenting a unified in-store commerce platform at Retail’s Big Show. Called “The Making of Shopping”, it aims to “transform point of sale management by breaking down the border between online and offline sales», Explains the Lyon company. Available in cloud mode, the platform is being developed under Windows 10. Cegid claims 430,000 users for its solutions, including 150,000 in SaaS mode. In 2015, the company achieved a turnover of 282 million euros.
