British startup Berg Cloud, which offers a platform for development hardware and software of connected objects, announced that it had raised 1.3 million dollars (940,000 euros) from Connect Ventures, Initial Capital and Index Ventures.

“Our mission with Berg Cloud is to make hardware development as easy as web development,” said Matt Webb, CEO of the company. To do this, “we have built [à l’origine] this platform for our own designers to make it easier for them to invent and operate connected products. Now we are making it available to everyone, ”he adds.

This technology, working in cloud, is a PaaS system (Platform as a Service, editor’s note) which had previously been requested for the development of Little Printer, a printer dedicated to smartphones that the company had started to market in 2011.

Originally specializing in design consulting, Berg dealt with big names such as Google or Intel before developing her own technologies. It was considered one of the 50 most innovative innovative companies of 2012 by Fast Company magazine.
