French SMEs are not sufficiently prepared for the “shock” of the Big Data revolution. This is the conviction of Bpifrance which organized for a day the conference “SMEs in the assault of Big Data” at the Bpifrance Hub, on November 3, 2015. A single watchword during the event: “We must play down the theme of Big data which can be scary, ”said Paul-François Fournier, Executive Director of Innovation at Bpifrance.

For the public bank, it was also a question of showing that France can be considered as a benchmark. It also brought together specialists to decipher the challenges of data: François Bourdoncle, President of FB & Cie, Franck Le Ouay, Co-founder of Criteo, Erwan Le Pennec, professor at Polytechnique. All the debates were broadcast on the bpifrance chain.

“If you are an SME manager, you have to think about algorithms and models, otherwise the risk is that you really become an extra”, underlined Etienne de Rocquigny, Chairman of Aremus et Associés.

By his side, testimonials from entrepreneurs: Yann Lechelle, COO of SNIPS, Sébastien Payen, Founder and CTO of Fruition Sciences, Jean-Pierre Gauthier, CEO of the Argus group, Bertrand Diard, Founder of Talend. But also large groups: Xavier Perret (Orange), Manuel Dreanno (OVH).

Finally, some companies came to give feedback from Zafar Baryali (CEO of DesBrasEnPlus) Bruno Verplancken (Founder and CEO of Neopark), Bertrand Barthélémy (CEO Parkeon).
