While the Vivendi group was penalized by the poor performance of SFR, faced with the price war on the mobile market, Iliad’s results have been boosted by the good health of Free on this same market.
In the first quarter of the year, the parent company of Free thus reported a turnover of 907 million euros, an increase of 38.4% over 12 months. The mobile activity, for its part, generated a turnover of 295 million euros. A score multiplied by three in one year.
“Fifteen months after its launch, mobile activity represents nearly a third of the Group’s turnover, ”the press release said.
Regarding commercial performance, Free would have recruited 870,000 new mobile subscribers over the first three months of 2013 and therefore now claims a little more than 6 million mobile subscribers. Overall, Free has 11.5 million subscribers.
