Created by two engineers from the Ecole Polytechnique de Bruxelles as part of a graduation project, Shoptimate is a price comparison in the form of an extension integrated into browsers.

During a visit to 70 referenced e-commerce sites (Amazon, Apple Store, Cdiscount, GrosBill, Pixmania, Fnac, Carrefour, Surcouf, Darty, etc.) each product price is compared in real time to those of the competition via a menu challenging in the browser. Only the price and shipping cost criteria are taken into account, plus the details of the proposed delivery times. Shoptimate works in Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Opera, not yet in Internet Explorer.

To develop this service, the creators rely on direct partnerships with brands or on data from major affiliation platforms. It is therefore on the affiliation, a commission on each sale generated, that their model is based. The Belgian startup is opening a new technical comparison model in continental Europe in the wake of the success of identical solutions in the United States and the United Kingdom.
