Apple + Getplus + Google = INSIDERS
It’s unheard of for 15 years. Tuesday, October 25, Apple announced an 8% drop in revenue to $ 215.6 billion for its entire fiscal year ended September 2016. At the same time, the US firm’s profits fell by 14%, to $ 45.7 billion. Over the past three months, the apple brand’s revenue even declined for the third consecutive quarter, to $ 46.9 billion. Between July and September, Apple’s net profit slumped 19% to $ 9 billion.
This decline in revenues of the Cupertino company is mainly to the credit of iPhone sales which continue to crumble. In the last quarter, Apple saw sales of its smartphone fall 5% to 45.5 million units. Last year, the company had sold 48 million over the same period.
Despite its disappointing results, Apple is showing more optimistic forecasts for the current quarter. The group is targeting a turnover of between 76 and 78 billion dollars. Apple relies in particular on the iPhone 7 to boost its sales during the holiday season.

The Holberton School team trains the computer engineers of tomorrow. The courses are based on projects and a system of peer learning (understanding mutual aid between students). In France, nearly 95% of Tech employees are on permanent contracts, if we are to believe the results of the latest study “People in Tech», Produced by Tech In France and Apollo Conseil et Courtage. This is more than in the entire French market, where 87.9% of employees are on permanent contracts.
Another lesson from the study is that the average turnover is 10.7%, and 61% of companies take more than 3 months to recruit a new profile when they feel the need. Differences appear according to the size of the companies; the largest companies with dedicated HR teams see the average recruitment time increasing (72% of them take more than 3 months to recruit someone).
Unsurprisingly, developers are among the longest profiles to recruit (barely a third of companies manage to recruit a developer in less than 3 months), and 63% of respondents believe that it is increasingly difficult to recruit these very courted profiles.
** Survey carried out from July 1 to September 30, 2016, among 144 French companies. 63% of respondents achieve less than 10 million euros in turnover, 24% have between 10 and 100 million euros in turnover, 7% more than 100 million euros, and 6% are “Start-up”.
In the third quarter of the year, investments in cybersecurity fell by 26% compared to the same period in 2015, reaching $ 809 million, according to the results of “Venture Pulse Q3 2016 ” produced by KPMG, in partnership with CB Insights. In terms of the number of transactions also recorded, investments fell from 63 transactions in the third quarter of 2015 to 56 transactions this year.
