Apple acquires Prss, an iPad magazine publisher

by bold-lichterman

Apple bought out Prss, a Dutch start-up which was developing a collaborative application to create magazines formatted for the iPad “Kiosk”. This buyout completes its offer for publishers and developers. The company’s website is no longer available.

This solution is similar to iBooks Author, the software for creating books for iBooks launched by the firm at Apple. Prss was launched a year ago by Jochem Wijnands and Michel Elings who had launched TRVL, a magazine specifically designed for the iPad.
