Since Wednesday, December 14, the American giant’s video streaming service, Amazon Prime Video, has been available in 200 new countries around the world, including France. Since its launch in 2011, the service was only accessible in 5 countries: the United States, United Kingdom, Japan, Germany and Austria. The firm of Jeff Bezos Now exceeds Netflix, present in 190 countries, in number of countries covered.
On the French video-on-demand market, Amazon competes with Netflix, present in France since 2014, as well as with other players such as Canal Play, Orange, or even Molotov, which offers a new experience of on-demand television.
Tech giants are positioning themselves in autonomous racing. Among them, Google announced the creation of Waymo, an entity entirely dedicated to the autonomous car. With this new company, the Mountain View firm says it no longer intends to manufacture a car “made in Google”.
The American giant is rather seeking to partner with car manufacturers, as evidenced by its partnership with Fiat-Chrysler to launch a fleet of 100 vehicles equipped with sensors developed by Google. According to Bloomberg, the Alphabet subsidiary could again collaborate with Fiat-Chrysler to develop a shared autonomous car service.
The prototype designed by Google and the Lexus RX450h are already circulating on American roads. In 2017, the American firm plans to launch 100 Chrysler Pacifica equipped with technologies developed by Google on the bitumen across the Atlantic. In the autonomous car market, Google has to deal with many players, like Tesla and Uber, which has already put its driverless car into circulation in Pittsburgh and San Francisco.

In 2016, Lyft drivers collected $ 100 million in tips, according to the 2017 Economic Impact Assessment report from Uber’s main rival in the United States. Faced with this observation, Lyft decided to thank its best drivers by creating an “appreciation day” this Wednesday, December 14. The latter will correspond to the tips given to each driver and can climb up to 20 dollars for the day. However, each tip should not exceed $ 5.
To motivate its drivers, Lyft has also implemented promotional offers, such as discounts at Shell gas stations and vehicle rentals with Hertz. Over the past year as a whole, Lyft estimates its drivers made $ 1.5 billion in profits. According to a survey conducted by the VTC platform, a large majority of them drive less than 20 hours per week.

By 2019, more than one in four people worldwide will be using a mobile messaging app, according to estimates from eMarketers. This corresponds to an increase of 16% compared to 2016, where the research firm estimates that 1.4 billion people will use these types of tools.
Another observation is that half of the mobile messaging users (805 million people) are currently located in the Asia-Pacific region. China alone concentrates 50% of users in this geographical area, followed by India, considered the most dynamic market with its 24% growth expected this year.
Accused of endangering activities such as the hotel industry or the profession of taxi driver, Uber and Airbnb are often singled out for their supposedly negative impact on the French economy. The
