Amazon authorizes the sale of HTML5 web applications on its Appstore

While the e-commerce giant opened the possibility for developers to publish their applications in HTML5 on its Amazon Appstore in 2013, they will now be able to market them by setting an adjustable price according to the chosen currencies. Until now, the apps could only be offered for free to the platform’s millions of consumers.

“The feature is now retroactive to all web applications that have already been released. Existing developers simply need to log into their ‘developer account’ to see an updated ‘Availability and pricing’ tab including a billing option for the app, ”the company explains.
