Orange has just announced that it has been the victim of an intrusion into its database. Consequence: 800,000 customer data were stolen, or 3% of Orange customers, indicates PCInpact who revealed the information.

“Orange was the target of a computer intrusion on January 16, 2014 from the ‘My Account’ page of the Customer Area of ​​the orange.fr site”, which gave rise to “the possible recovery of a number limited personal data, ”says Orange.

The Phishing, this hacking process on the customer data of banks and operators would relate to basic data: names, first names and postal addresses of customers, but “not on passwords”, a spokesperson for the group told AFP .

Orange has filed a complaint, added the spokesperson.
