42 + Qvivr + Elisabeth Moreno (Lenovo) = INSIDERS
42 cannot be denied. Laurent Wauquiez, President of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, and Xavier Niel , the boss of the Iliad group, have announced their intention to open a computer coding school in Lyon on the model of the Parisian school 42. As of next September, the establishment will welcome 300 students who will follow a three-year training course. “ Each student goes at his own speed “, nevertheless recalled Xavier Niel .
At the end of their course, no diploma will be issued. “ The diploma is not important in this profession since on arrival, the students find a job “, declared the French entrepreneur.
For this school, the region plans to invest 5 million euros per year. This will be installed on a 3,400 square meter site in the Confluence district. However, it could join the future Rhone-Alps digital campus, wanted by Laurent Wauquiez, in Charbonnières-les-Bains by the start of the 2019-2020 school year.
Last May, Xavier Niel had already decided to export 42 overseas Atlantic , in Fremont, California, in the heart of Silicon Valley.

Qvivr raises $ 5 million to launch bank card for millennials
The Californian FinTech Qvivr completed a $ 5 million Series A funding round led by Khosla Ventures. Founded in 2014 by Kuldeep Amarnath and Ashutosh Dhodapkar, Qvivr launched SWYP, an ultra-thin metal card and mobile app that combines all of a user’s credit, debit, donation and loyalty cards. The device should thus make it easier for the user to manage his money. However, the company halted production of SWYP due to manufacturing issues, but plans to resume shipments next summer.
This investment should allow Qvivr to develop a new product for millennials. This will harness some of the technology in the SWYP card and try to make payments “more fun” for millennials, according to the company.
