Jostled by South Korea and China, Japan is trying to regain control in the high technology sector. Thus, the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry plans to inject 19.5 billion yen, or the equivalent of 163 million euros, in the construction of a supercomputer. The tendering process for the project has started and should end on December 8.
This machine could be equipped with a computing capacity of 130 petaflops (a petaflop means a million billion operations per second) to help Japanese companies develop autonomous cars or technologies in robotics. Currently, the most powerful computer in the world is the Sunway Taihulight, designed in China. The latter has a capacity of 93 petaflops.
Association Digital France presented its new Board on Friday 25 November. Among the new digital personalities joining the team, we will notably remember former minister Fleur Pellerin, the founding entrepreneur of Tinyclues David Bessis, and Rachel Delacour, co-founder of BIME Analytics. Former members were re-elected, such as Thierry Petit, CEO of Showroomprivé, or Jean-David Chamboredon, president of ISAI.

A must-see event for many people, the announcement of the results of the US presidential election was followed live by more than 8 out of 10 US citizens this year, according to a study from the Pew Research Institute.
While television remains the media most chosen (90%) to follow the event, 48% of Americans have kept themselves informed via online platforms, and 21% of them via social networks. In the previous presidential election in 2012, just 8% of American citizens had used social media to follow the results. This raises the question of the growing influence that social networks are taking in our daily lives, and of the latter’s responsibility in the event of the dissemination of false information through them.
Proof that video has become a habit of Internet users, 1 in 2 French people now connect to Youtube at least once a day, according to data presented by the video specialist on the occasion of its YouTube Brandcast.
Among the other figures put forward by the company, 85 YouTube channels have exceeded one million subscribers in France; there were 10 in 2014. Finally, a third of users watch YouTube videos before buying a product. When and how do they connect? What types of videos are they watching? So many questions that the social network answers in an infographic.
From this Sunday, November 27, Canal, born from the merger of Canal + and Canalsat, presents its new brand territory on television and in the cinema. The campaign, produced by the BETC agency, consists of two video spots of 45 and 60 seconds, as well as a press and radio component.
Quirky, the videos draw a parallel between grand cuisine and television, stating that “the best TV is made with the best channels“. We see cartoon characters sliced like onions, a grated police car, or even frozen peplum characters. If the comparison is daring, the campaign flirts with a very current trend, that of cooking shows.
